Hi all,

The season is only in its fourth week, and I have had some complaints about coaches, players and fan behavior. I have told our officials that they should NOT put up with any bad behavior from any coach, player or fan.

1. Coach - you will get one warning from the officials- if you hear "That's enough coach" then you should stop screaming at the official. Screaming gets you nowhere. It just sets a poor example for the players you are supposed to be role models for. If you don't stop after your warning you WILL be yellow carded. If this doesn't work you WILL be red carded and asked to leave the game. If no other coach is there your team will be asked to leave with you.

The officials make mistakes, as do we all. The game looks much different from the sideline than it does from the field. Remember the players look to you for guidance and if you behave badly they will think it's Ok for them to question every call as well.

2. Players - There is no time when a player should be disrespectful to an official. The player will not get a warning they will be yellow carded immediately for any questioning of calls or attitude toward officials. As coaches if you see your players doing this I would hope that when they come off the field (after their card) you talk to them about their bad behavior. Remember if you act out toward the officials it will make the players think they can do the same.

3. Fans - before every game the official will ask you who your sideline manger is. This is the person who will take care of the fans. If this person doesn't take care of any fans who are screaming about calls, then the officials will HAVE to card the coach. So please make sure you have a sideline manger at ALL your games. Each team home and away needs one at ALL games.

Thanks for helping us keep girls lax competitive and fun.

Thanks,
Laura McCarthy
