Hello Laxers,

First official day of the 2010 season and there are tons of games today. Here are some important reminders:

• Good sportsmanship is ALWAYS the standard in girls lacrosse and this season there is a heightened awareness to the behavior of coaches, players and spectators.  Traditionally most of the bad things we as a Board hear occur within the first two (2) weeks of the season. Let's all work together to ensure that 2010 gets off to a smooth and fun start. To this end, please make sure each team has their designated Sideline Administrators in place at least 30 minutes before the game and that you have your pre-game meeting with ALL the coaches and officials as outlined in the League Rules.

• Make sure that your Town Contact name(s) and field location(s) information is correct on the League website. Now that games have begun it is even more critical that all your information is 100% correct. Click here for a direct link to the update page. Please send field direction changes/updates to webmaster@njjgll.com.

League Dues remain outstanding from a handful of programs. Please see that this gets done ASAP to avoid the risk of having referees pulled from your HOME games – this will only penalize your own players/coaches and the visiting town who got this done on time.  Thank you!

• Our referee assignor Laura McCarthy has provided access to the Arbiter system to each participating town, giving you detailed information on field locations, assigned referees, specific team being played, etc. Key contact people from each program will get game reminders a few days before the scheduled contest with contact information for the assigned referees – we recommend that these be immediately forwarded along to the specific teams in your program as an extra reminder. Please be reminded that the individual coaches still bear the responsibility of confirming with the other team and it is the HOME town's responsibility to connect with the referees.

• The NJJGLL website is a wonderful resource for all things youth lacrosse related statewide. It is continually being updated - we encourage you to check back often for new information and opportunities for your players and coaches.

Your feedback and constructive input is always welcome. Please feel free to get in touch with any member of the Board through the Contacts section of the website and they will be happy to assist you.

Lax on,
Mark Coan
