NJJGLL LanyardWith two (2) USL Instructional Clinics down and three (3) left to go this pre-season, we are reaffirming our commitment to the US Lacrosse Level 1 Certification phase-in plan found on the League website.  Please click here for more information.

Last year, the NJJGLL officially launched a new lanyard initiative to acknowledge all of our US Lacrosse Level 1 and Level 2 certified coaches.  All attendees at the USL Level 1 Clinics (Millburn-12/4/10, Lawrenceville-2/13/11, Mountain Lakes-3/20/11 and Gillette-3/26/11) will receive an Orange lanyard like the one pictured here in recognition of their commitment to become certified.  The Level 2 lanyards are purple to distinguish that additional achievement, and will be provided to all attendees at the USL Level 2 Clinic scheduled for Chester-3/27/11.

Much like the players are required to wear protective eyewear and a mouth guard to play the game, we will be requiring coaches to display their credentials on the field during games to participate as well.  Attached to the end of the lanyard is a plastic sleeve in which you are to keep your current US Lacrosse membership card.  By adhering to these simple rules the umpires will be able to quickly determine if coaches have met their compliance requirements and deadlines.

For coaches that have become Level 1 or Level 2 certified, but have not yet received your lanyards, we will get them to you before the games begin on April 12th.  Please communicate through your Program Administrators, who will then need to contact the Conference Presidents.

The Board is fully committed to this mandate. Please make every effort possible to attend one of the remaining clinics being offered this winter and get your garb for 2011!

Lax on,
Mark Coan
NJJGLL President
